In bronze in Tokyo, the French are out of the race for a world charm after the cross this Saturday, in Italy.

The French eventing team is no longer in the running for a team medal at the 2022 Worlds, after the cross, penultimate event on Saturday at Pratoni Del Vivaro (south-east of Rome). Les Bleus, bronze medalists in the team event at the Tokyo Olympics, experienced a disappointment with the elimination of Thomas Carlile and Nicolas Touzaint, each victim of a fall. Germany is still in the lead with a score of 76.1 points, ahead of the United States (77.4 points) and Great Britain (80.9 points).

In the individual ranking dominated with 18.8 points by the German Michael Jung, winner of the cross, the best Frenchman Gaspard Maksud, occupies 9th place with 27.1 points. Before show jumping, the last event on Sunday, the other tricolors still ranked are Cyrielle Lefevre 28th (37.2 pts) and Astier Nicolas 54th (70.1 pts). Individual and team titles will be awarded at the end of the show jumping course.
