Taiwan: visa exemption has been restored for European travelers

Suspended during the Covid-19 pandemic, the visa exemption to travel to Taiwan for the purposes of tourism, family visit, business, conferences and academic exchanges has been reinstated September 12. This measure valid for stays of less than 90 days is again applicable for nationals of the following countries: United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, all countries of the European Union and diplomatic allies of Taiwan.

With regard to the health protocol linked to the Covid-19 epidemic, if vaccination and presentation of a PCR test done before departure are no longer essential, the measures remain binding. In addition to the PCR test to be performed upon arriving at Taoyuan Airport, a strict and controlled 3-day quarantine is still mandatory. On September 29, these rules will change again.
