The book on the 50 years of the Saguenéens officially launched

An event took place at the Pulperie de Chicoutimi with some former team players.

This 324-page book, titled The Saguenéens of Chicoutimi : since 1973, a story of pride, was written by the retired journalist from Daily Serge Emond. Through interviews, anecdotes, statistics and hundreds of archival photos, the book revisits each of the organization’s first 49 seasons.

The book traces each of the team’s first 49 seasons, including that of 1993-1994 which ended with the conquest of the President’s Cup.

The best moments as the most difficult moments are approached by the author. By accepting the challenge of President Richard Létourneau four years ago, Serge Émond wanted to offer a complete book to the supporters.

Are you interested?” I said yes, but he gave me carte blanche. Obviously, this was not an opportunity to settle accounts. Yes, I had carte blanche, but I couldn’t write any nonsensespecified Serge Émond during an interview granted Wednesday morning to the program It’s never the same.

Serge Émond did impressive research to write his book on the 50 years of the Chicoutimi Saguenéens of the QMJHL

Serge Émond went through hundreds of articles from Daily during its writing, in addition to counting on the collaboration of the QMJHL for the statistics of the editions of the Sags of each of the seasons which are available in the book. He admits that the search for action photos from the 1970s was complicated.

The book will go on sale Thursday at four independent bookstores in the region. It is already on sale on the Saguenéens online store.
