The Tunisian Post and Visa International signed yesterday, Thursday, September 22, 2022, “a strategic partnership agreement to develop innovative electronic payment services”.
This agreement intervenes “in consecration of the joint commitment between the two institutions with a view to developing electronic payment, facilitating financial integration and limiting cash payment”.
Extending over a period of 20 years, this partnership will promote innovative and secure electronic payment services for customers. “An action plan will be put in place, by virtue of this cooperation, facilitating access to electronic payment services based on digitization, by developing new payment methods”.
This agreement was signed by the CEO of the Tunisian post, Sami Mekki, and the Senior Vice President & Group Country Manager of Visa International for the region of North Africa, the Middle East, and Pakistan, Leïla Serhane, at the post office, in the presence of the executives of the two institutions.
“The Tunisian Post has opted for a strategy based on the development of electronic payment and financial and social integration, through the development of new digital financial services based mainly on modern technologies and programs that go hand in hand with the needs of different social categories,” said Sami Mekki.
The Tunisian Post has set itself objectives to facilitate full access to digital financial services, through mobile phone payment applications, “D17” and “my Poste”, aimed particularly at young people, students, citizens and small and medium-sized enterprises, he added.
“The Visa company believes in fruitful bilateral cooperation through the signing of strategic partnerships between the public and private sectors, allowing the integration of citizens into the official financial system, and the generalization of electronic means of payment to achieve a world, rid of ordinary monetary transactions, which will be beneficial for citizens and economic enterprises,” said Leïla Serhane.
